ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

Word of Life Apostolic Center, Inc. is an established Center for Healing, Hope and Restoration. Our mission is to reach and uplift those who are broken and need an experience with God. Through God's words and the power of the Holy Spirit, our church has helped many people to find a new direction for their lives; one that is built on faith, obedience and the acceptance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Amongst us are testimonies of deliverance from drug and alcohol addictions, physical and sexual abuse, street gangs, drug dealing, prostitution, poverty, and welfare dependency.

Our church had its beginning in a small prayer group that met in November, 1999 in the home of our pastor. As we sought the Lord, he began to impress upon our hearts that there was a deeper purpose for each of our lives. We were brought together to birth out a fellowship of believers that would be a catalyst for revival in the state of New Jersey.  Our subsequent meeting places included homes in the City of New Brunswick, conference rooms at the Quality Inn Hotel in Somerset, and recently, the First Reformed Church in New Brunswick.  On April 4th, 2010 we relocated to Union County, a central location to all our members.

In each of the locations we have worshiped, we experienced a mighty move of God and ministered to hundreds of souls; many of whom are now active members of this church. Today we are a church that is culturally diverse with members travelling from Mercer, Monmouth, Middlesex, Union and Essex Counties, to our services.  We are not bound or constrained by any one tradition or culture; people of all cultures and ethnic groups are welcomed.

We are Apostolic in doctrine, Pentecostal in experience, and embrace a godly lifestyle that exemplifies the life of Jesus Christ.  We totally accept the Bible as the absolute Word of God, and that Jesus Christ was God manifested in flesh. Our worship form is a blend of traditional and contemporary worship styles, with sound biblical preaching and teaching by an anointed pastor and an outstanding team of qualified ministers.

Word of Life Apostolic Center, Inc. ministers to the entire family. This includes age appropriate biblical instructions in Sunday school and a dynamic Youth Ministry (IMPACT) on Fridays that is strictly targeted toward the youth culture of today. There is also a singles ministry for those who are unmarried, divorced, or widowed, a married couples ministry, a men's and a women's fellowship.

Our church launched outreach points in the cities of Plainfield, Woodbridge, New Brunswick, Carteret, Elizabeth, and Irvington. We are actively involved with campus ministy on the campuses of Kean University, Union County College, Rutgers Univeristy and Essex County College.

Come join us, this is a place where you can absolutely be yourself.a child of God! This is the potters house!

We have not sent ourselves. This is not a matter of choice! We exercise no prerogative at all. The command is GO! We have been ordered to do so  the reaching of this generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is so vital, that if ever received, will transform the lives of individuals. This Church will ever be under orders to evangelize, to witness, to herald, to mobilize for the revival that is coming to the cities of Central New Jersey.

OUR MISSION AND VISION

The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Holy Spirit, the divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great commission.  Each believer, who is born of the water and the Spirit, is an integral part of the General Assembly and Church of the firstborn, which are written in Heaven (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:22; Hebrews 12:23).

Since God's purpose concerning man is to seek and to save that which is lost, to be worshiped by man, and to build a body of believers in his image, the priority reason-for-being Word of Life Apostolic Center is:

To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:48; Acts 2:38).

To be a corporate body in which man may worship God (1 Corinthians 12:13).

To be a channel of God's purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:28; 1 Corinthians 14:12).

The Word of Life Apostolic Center exists expressly to give continuing emphasis on this reason-for-being, in the New Testament Apostolic pattern, by teaching and encouraging believers to repent and to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.  This experience:

  • Enables them to evangelize in the power of the Spirit with accompanying supernatural signs (mark 16:15-20; Acts 4:29-31; Hebrews 2:3-4).

  • Adds a necessary dimension to worshipful relationship with God (1 Corinthians 2:10-16: 1 Corinthians 12, 13 and 14.)

  • Enables them to respond to the full working of the Holy Spirit in expressing the fruit, gifts and ministries as in the New Testament times for the edifying of the body of Christ. (Galatians 5:22-26; 1 Corinthians 14:12; Ephesians 4:11-12;  1 Corinthians 12:28; Colossians 1:29).
